Hopefully, we'll learn more in the future through an outlet that isn't on an app, along with a release date, which the game still doesn't have. There is no give with this one as it appears to be a blistering but fun experience. You'll have to subscribe to the magazine through the App Store in order to get the full skinny, but from what we've been able to gether, this is a much tougher, meaner, and far more sophisticated game than you experienced the first time around. Hollow Knight: Silksong is in development for Switch.Team Cherry decided to drop an exclusive story in Edge Magazine this week, as they reveal more details about Hollow Knight: Silksong. It may not be playable yet, it may not have the heaviest marketing campaign either, but it does have a lot of information out there that, hopefully, can tide fans over until its next showing. Hollow Knight: Silksong is real and tangible. Wanting something new and concrete is understandable, hoping for a release date soon is okay, but for fans of the franchise, all of this is a good thing. It’s easy to see Hollow Knight: Silksong for what it is because it has put a lot of itself out there. There is plenty of information out there to whet the appetite of Hollow Knight lore lovers, including plenty of confirmed features that will manifest in the game. That’s not really the case for Hollow Knight: Silksong, though. ![]() It may not even make it to another showcase this year, and with several games being announced so early in development, information drought is a common issue nowadays. It wasn’t at E3, it wasn’t at the recent Nintendo Indie Direct, and it wasn’t at Gamescom. RPG elements are also tossed in with all of this, moreso than Hollow Knight, and they could end up being some of the biggest changes.Įven considering all of this, fans are wanting and waiting to learn more, hoping it is at event after event. Instead of using soul to heal like in Hollow Knight, Hornet will use silk in Silksong. Furthermore, while it is somewhat similar to Hollow Knight, Silksong’s fast travel seems rather unique- the Bell Beast. Hornet can craft weapons and tools, with the game also replacing the Geo currency with Rosary Beads. These quests, as it stands, are broken down in Hunt, Gather, Wayfinder, and Grand Hunt quest lines. There’s also a collection of NPCs, which will give Hornet quests. ![]() There are several Hollow Knight: Silksong bosses already confirmed, ranging from Lace to Steel Assassin Sharpe and more. Gameplay will be largely similar, with plans for over 165 different enemies. A few of the smaller areas of Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Pharloom have also been confirmed and detailed. A few details about Pharloom are known even, such as it having a shining citadel, being ruled by “Silk and Song,” being based around faith and pilgrimage, and having a gilded pin as part of its traditional weaponry. Hornet, captured and taken to Pharloom, must climb to the very top of this kingdom to discover the mystery of her being brought here. Originally a DLC for Hollow Knight, Silksong became so massive that it was only right it becomes its own game. ![]()
